Almaguin Pride was established in 2022. But LGBTQ2S+ people have lived in the Almaguin Highlands for far longer.

LGBTQ2S+ identities are an important part of the fabric of the Almaguin Highlands. They exist and persist in this region, and should be given the visibility they deserve. We aim to foster a positive, safe, and inclusive environment in the Almaguin Highlands, where everyone is free to be themselves. Almaguin Pride is dedicated to the creation of meaningful change at the local level, fostering unity, awareness, and the celebration of LGBTQ2S+ identities to ultimately create a stronger, more accepting Almaguin.
